The Royal Wedding with Tech!

Tomorrow is the first royal wedding of the 21st century, so make sure to follow along with tech!

YouTube

If you haven’t received your invitation from The Royal Family yet, no worries, here it is!

That’s right, you are cordially invited by The Royal Family to attend the wedding tomorrow with live streaming via YouTube. Check out the channel today with lots of videos in preparation for Will and Kate’s nuptuals tomorrow! The Royal Family YouTube Channel.

Google Earth

To see a bird’s eye view of the royal procession, check out this 3D video from Google Earth on YouTube:

The video guides you along the route the royals will be travelling tomorrow. (Seems to me there is a more direct route, but maybe I’m remembering London wrong…) Here’s a link to Google’s Official Blog explaining all of their wedding coverage: A Fairytale Marriage.

Royal Wedding Apps for Children

If Royal Wedding fever has hit your household, but your kids haven’t caught it yet, check out these apps to help them participate in the festivities:

• Will & Kate

Will & Kate is an interactive eBook for iPads. Each page has special effects and the book offers a “Read to Me” narration feature so your child can hear the love story of the royal couple as many times as she wants. You can also turn off the narration if she wants to read the book herself or you want to read it to her. This highly rated app is $3.99 in the App Store.

• Dress the Royals: Wedding Edition

This $0.99 iPhone app lets your kids dress up members of the royal family in different outfits for the wedding. Choose a dress for Kate! Choose a military uniform for Will! Choose the background. Take a screenshot of the and share your royal family portrait on Facebook or email it to friends.  If your child likes to play dress up, this app is one for you!

Make sure to vote in today’s Wonder of Tech poll and let us know how you will be participating in the wedding events! Also, be sure to check out International Travel with Your Mobile Device! for other royal wedding apps and a must see video of the Royal Wedding rehearsal!

I would love to watch the wedding on the royal family’s official You Tube channel but I want to watch it on tv so I can see it on the big screen. I like the idea of You Tube though.

Hi Sue, Welcome back to The Wonder of Tech! There are ways to watch YouTube on your tv. If you have an Apple TV, Nintendo Wii or Sony Play Station 3, you can watch YouTube on your tv. Certain DVD players that connect to the internet can play YouTube as well. Hope this helps! :-)
